As many of you know I go swimming several times a week. I swim for hals an hour and try to go as far as I can - no rests. WhenI started in october I could swim 24 lengths 600 metres (it's a 25 metre pool)I can now swim 32 lengths (800 metres) in the same time. sometimes ( but not often at the moment) I can mange 34 lengths (850 metres). One of my team is a cub scout leader and is so impressed by my dedication that he gave me
a cub scout swimming badge.

I was so touched.

However yesterday I decided to ignore the time thingand go for distance and in 40 minues I swam 40 lengths - I SWAM 1 THOUSAND METRES. Go me.

Walking to the bus stop tonight I saw this in the middle of the whitgist centre. A lottery funded *mobile Musem* showing a small exhibition about the war and how it still affects us. I was very very impressed.

Hmm been a bit quiet here for the last week hasn't it. I've been a bit busy looking at pictures rather than taking them. and I have decided to do a photographers I like link list. I'm going to start off by being a bit selfish. Paul Mutton takes excellent photographs as a hobby but he is taking hiw multiplicity of cameras to Lizzie's wedding in his guise of official wedding photographer from his own company Intershot Photography - a shameless plug there for Paul - but I think he's man enough to take it. This is Reuters picture of the silence in Trafalgar Square today. We lined up by the railings of teh Office car park overlooking Wellesley Road. I didn't take my camera, it didn't seem right, but all grades and all racesa colours and creeds were represented.

I've just been watching the news and the coverage has made me tearful - as it has many others I suspect. The one that really moved me was children from what was clearly an Islamic school, all lined up with signs saying not in our name. Croydon came to a standstill today as a result of suspect packages in 2 banks and the railway station. What had happened in central London earlier precluded anyone taking them lightly. Wellesley road was closed and the buses built up
