It's funny but I always thought that shoes came in pairs, so this sign offering BOGOF on shoes rather confused me

Silence

This is Reuters picture of the silence in Trafalgar Square today. We lined up by the railings of teh Office car park overlooking Wellesley Road. I didn't take my camera, it didn't seem right, but all grades and all racesa colours and creeds were represented.

I've just been watching the news and the coverage has made me tearful - as it has many others I suspect. The one that really moved me was children from what was clearly an Islamic school, all lined up with signs saying not in our name. If you want to see more personal photos eithr go to Technorati and see what has been written and pictured.

with the temperature over 80 degrees there was an electical fault cutting off power to 2 office blocks and half the shopping centre. We had to evacuate the buildings.

Farthing Down

This afternoon the weather was very hot and the house was stuffy so we went for a walk on Farthing Down and then drove on to Chaldon Church. The air was lovely up there and there was a breeze. This is the view fro the end of Chaldon Churchyard.

Croydon came to a standstill today as a result of suspect packages in 2 banks and the railway station. What had happened in central London earlier precluded anyone taking them lightly. Wellesley road was closed and the buses built up Posted by Picasa

I went out to dinner with friends tonight but by the end of the evening the sangria made my view a bit fuzzy, and giggling made my photo of the Sangria a bit fuzzy

I went to Tankerton in Kent last night for a beach barbecue. The weather was poor but we had a lot of fun.
